A TPI Assessment will identify any physical limitations and previous injuries. So swing inefficiencies can be explained and simple solutions achieved with the body swing connection.


TPI’s Swing Philosophy

We don’t believe there is one way to swing a club; we believe there are an infinite number of ways to swing a club. But we do believe that there is one efficient way for everyone to swing a club and it is based on what you can physically


15 point golf screening assessment

  1. The Pelvic Tilt Test – test for overall mobility of the hips and the lumbar spine and a player’s ability to control the position of the pelvic posture
  2. The Pelvic Rotation Test – ability to rotate the lower body independently from the upper body
  3. The Torso Rotation Test – ability to rotate the upper body independently from the lower body
  4. The Overhead Deep Squat Test – test to assess bilateral, symmetrical mobility of the hips, knees, and ankles. This test also assesses bilateral, symmetrical mobility of the shoulders and thoracic spine when you combine the dowel held overhead
  5. The Toe Touch Test- test for overall mobility in the lower back and hamstrings, plus it can help identify a hip problem versus a lower back/core limitation
  6. The 90-90 Test –  test for external rotation in the shoulder and their ability to maintain scapular stability in a golf posture
  7. The Single Leg Balance Test- this test measures the golfer’s overall balance
  8. The Lat Test – test  for shoulder flexion which includes the flexibility of the latissimus dorsi muscle group, shoulder joint restrictions and scapular motion limitations
  9. The Lower Quarter Rotation Test – test the rotational mobility of the lower quarter. Hip and tibial internal/external rotation and foot inversion/eversion
  10. The Cervical Rotation Test – test evaluates the amount of available cervical spine rotation and lateral flexion
  11. The Wrist Flexion-Extension Test- this test is to determine if the wrists have enough ability to flex or “bend forward”
  12. The Wrist Hinge Up-Down Test-  to test the ability to both Ulnar and Radial deviate the wrist
  13. The Wrist Pronation-Supination Test – to test the ability to both Pronate and Supinate the wrists
  14. The Seated Trunk Rotation Test – to test if the rotational mobility is present in the thoraco-lumbar spine.
  15. The Bridge With Leg Extension Test – to test for stability in the pelvis/lumbar spine/core, especially the gluteal muscles
